Team Bimota Alstare fired up
After Team Bimota Alstare’s rider Ayrton Badovini’s success in the EVO class last time out, both he and team mate Christian Iddon are looking forward to the next round at Donington Park this weekend.
Donington is situated near Castle Donington, in Leicestershire, and has played host to the World Superbikes on twenty occasions since the championship began back in 1988.
The circuit was built in 1931 and is 4,023 metres long. It is a mixed type of track made up of fast lines with various ups and downs and some slow corners with short straights in between which require sharp braking and acceleration - such as the Melbourne Hairpin.

“We had a great result in the last round and that was good for the whole team and all our supporters. But now we must build on that and keep making progress each time we go out. There is still a lot of work to be done – particularly in the understanding of the electrics – and if we can get the bike to do what we want it to do, then we will be challenging the top EVO class spot every time out.
Donington is not the easiest tracks for bike set-up and it is important that we get the bike working well in practice and then really attack the races on Sunday.”
Christian Iddon
“Imola was a big morale booster for the team and it shows what the BB3 is a capable of. But we know that there’s more to come from this bike and that excites me. The potential is there – all we have to do is to realise it. Although Donington is my home round, I don’t feel any extra pressure racing there. The only pressure I have is what I put on myself. I know that I have a lot to learn about riding a Superbike, but I feel that I am making progress every time out. There’s a lot to learn, compared to last year, but I am confident that I can become more and more competitive with each weekend. “
