Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 25 October 2013 – By common agreement, Ducati and Alstare have decided to terminate their partnership, which started in November 2012. Ducati and Team Alstare have reached the end of a very difficult season unable to achieve the desired results, despite the effort, commitment and resources applied by both parties.

The partnership between the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer and Team Alstare was expected to continue in 2014, however, the current economic climate and subsequent withdrawal of support by one of Alstare’s main partners, has dictated that the Belgian team must downsize its future plans. 

In a meeting held at the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Francis Batta and the Ducati management decided the best course of action would be an early termination of the agreement before the start of the 2014 season.

“I am extremely sorry that an operation that had started on such a positive note had to be concluded before its time without achieving the results we were aiming for,” said Ernesto Marinelli, Ducati SBK Project Manager. “This was a very difficult year in terms of sports performance, but I am convinced that it nevertheless made us both grow and lay solid foundations for our future development and improvement. In these months together, I experienced the constant professionalism and expertise of everyone at Team Alstare, and I hope to be able to work with them again in the future. My special thanks, both in my personal capacity and on behalf of the whole company, go to Francis for the effort he has put in this year – as he always has throughout his career.”

“I am very sad because this challenge, which began last November, was very important for me as a fresh start after missing one year,” said Francis Batta Owner of Team Alstare. “Working with Ducati was incredibly thrilling, although unfortunately, we failed to achieve the results we had set ourselves. The 2013 racing season has been incredibly hard for us, and being unable to start from a solid position in 2014, I would rather not take risks that might compromise our ability to complete the season. I would like to thank Ducati for trusting me and I wish them all the success that they deserve."

Ducati has confirmed that it will take part in the Superbike World Championship next season, with 2014 riders and racing plans to be announced in the coming days.

Borgo Panigale (Bologna), 25 ottobre 2013 - Ducati ed Alstare hanno deciso, in comune accordo, di concludere anticipatamente la collaborazione iniziata lo scorso novembre.

Sia per Ducati che per il Team Alstare è stata una stagione molto difficile quella appena conclusasi dove, malgrado la volontà, l’impegno e le risorse profuse, non è stato possibile ottenere i risultati sperati.

L’accordo di collaborazione tra la casa motociclistica bolognese e il Team Alstare era previsto  anche per la stagione 2014. Purtroppo, causa l’attuale congiuntura economica, uno dei principali partner del progetto Alstare è stato costretto a cancellare appoggio e sostegno al Team belga, obbligando un forzato ridimensionamento dei progetti futuri. 

In una riunione, tenutasi presso la sede Ducati a Borgo Panigale, Francis Batta e il management Ducati hanno quindi convenuto che la soluzione migliore fosse quella di concludere anticipatamente la collaborazione per il 2014.

“Mi dispiace che un’operazione iniziata con grande ottimismo si concluda anzitempo senza aver dato i risultati che tutti speravamo. - ha commentato Ernesto Marinelli, responsabile in Ducati del progetto SBK - E’ stato un anno molto difficile da un punto di vista sportivo, ma sono convinto che abbia comunque portato una crescita ad entrambi e creato delle solide basi su cui proseguire per crescere e migliorare. In questi mesi trascorsi insieme ho avuto conferma che il Team Alstare è composto da persone di estrema competenza, con cui spero di poter lavorare ancora in futuro. Un ringraziamento, mio personale e a nome di tutta l’azienda, a Francis per tutti gli sforzi che ha fatto quest’anno impegnandosi, come è nel suo stile, sempre al massimo.”

“Sono molto triste in questo momento perché la sfida cominciata lo scorso novembre è stata per me un importante stimolo per ricominciare dopo lo stop di un anno. - ha detto Francis Batta, titolare del Team Alstare - Lavorare con Ducati mi ha entusiasmato ed è stata una bellissima esperienza, anche se, purtroppo, quest’anno i risultati non sono arrivati. Affrontare il 2013 è stato per me uno sforzo enorme e non avendo delle basi solide per il 2014 preferisco non prendere rischi che potrebbero compromettere la possibilità di andare avanti per tutta la stagione. Ringrazio Ducati per la fiducia che mi ha dato e auguro alle "rosse di Borgo Panigale" di tornare presto ai successi che meritano."

Ducati conferma comunque la partecipazione alla prossima stagione iridata Superbike e, nei prossimi giorni, annuncerà piloti e programmi sportivi per il 2014.
