Monza (Italy), Sunday 12 May 2013: Team SBK Ducati Alstare and Ayrton Badovini fought hard during today’s fourth round of the World Superbike Championship at the ‘Autodromo di Monza’, concluding the day’s races in ninth and eleventh position. Carlos Checa did not take part due to an ongoing shoulder injury.

Race 1 – starting from twelfth position on the grid, Ayrton lost a few positions through the first chicane but was able to make up two of those lost places before the end of the first lap, positioning himself fourteenth. He then set out to chase down Sandi and Neukirchner immediately ahead of him, passing both of them during the course of the subsequent laps. By lap eight Ducati Alstare’s flag bearer was in eleventh position and, by keeping Neukirchner firmly behind him during the second half of the race, he was able to cross the line in that same position, scoring five championship points as a result.

Race 2 – Badovini made a good start to the second race, making up a couple of positions through the first corners and moving into eleventh position during lap two. Once past Neukirchner, Ayrton tried to push to reach Baz a few seconds ahead of him. By mid-race he was in ninth place but unfortunately, due to the gap that had opened up between him and Loris ahead of him, he was unable to further improve on his position and so brought his 1199 Panigale home in final ninth position.

Ayrton Badovini: “Race 1 was difficult as we had chattering issues through the fast sections of the track. We solved this in part for the second race by making some changes, or tests, and we saw that something good came out of it. In the coming days we’ll test at Mugello, where the aim will be to focus on what we’ve found here today and try to refine it in preparation for the next races. I’d like to thank all my sponsors, fans and the many Ducatisti who’ve come to cheer us on this weekend – I’m always grateful for their support.”

At the end of Round 4 Ayrton holds 32 points and lies in thirteenth position in the general standings. Carlos, having not participated in this weekend’s races, is fourteenth with 29 points.

Team SBK Ducati Alstare, with rider Ayrton Badovini, will take part in Ducati's next development tests at the Mugello circuit this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.

9˚ e 11˚ posto per Badovini e il Team SBK Ducati Alstare nelle gare di oggi a Monza

Monza (Italia), domenica 12 maggio 2013: due gare impegnative per il Team SBK Ducati Alstare quelle disputate oggi sul circuito di Monza; Ayrton Badovini ha portato la sua 1199 Panigale in 9na e 11esima posizione, mentre Carlos Checa non ha partecipato alle gare a causa dell’infortunio alla spalla.

Gara 1 – partendo dalla dodicesima posizione in griglia, Badovini ha perso qualche posizione nella prima chicane per poi recuperare due delle posizioni perse entro la fine del primo giro, posizionandosi 14esimo. Ha dato quindi la caccia a Sandi e a Neukirchner subito davanti a lui e, nel corso dell’ottava tornata, il portacolori Ducati Alstare e’ riuscito a sorpassare tutti e due i piloti che lo precedevano, per passare in undicesima posizione. Tenendo il pilota tedesco alle sue spalle durante la seconda fase della gara, Badovini ha tagliato il traguardo in undicesima posizione finale, guadagnando cinque punti per il campionato.

Gara 2 –Badovini e’ partito bene nella seconda manche, guadagnando un paio di posizioni gia’ nelle prime curve per trovarsi poi undicesimo dopo due giri. Una volta sorpassato Neukirchner, Ayrton ha cominciato a spingere per raggiungere Baz subito davanti a lui. A meta’ gara era nono, ma purtroppo il gap era troppo grande tra lui ed il pilota francese e questo non gli ha permesso di migliorare ulteriormente la sua posizione; Badovini ha portato la sua 1199 Panigale al nono posto finale.

Ayrton Badovini: ‘Gara 1 è stata difficile perché abbiamo avuto problemi di saltellamento nella parte più veloce della pista. Li abbiamo risolti in parte per la seconda gara, facendo dei cambiamenti e alcune prove, ed e’ venuto fuori qualcosa di buono. Nei prossimi giorni faremo dei test al Mugello, dove l’obiettivo sara’ di focalizzare quello che abbiamo trovato qui oggi ed ottimizzarlo in previsione delle prossime gare. Vorrei ringraziare tutti gli sponsor, i fan ed i Ducatisti che sono venuti a sostenerci in questo weekend – il loro supporto e’ sempre molto apprezzato.’

Alla fine di questo quarto round del campionato 2013, Badovini si trova 13esimo in classifica con 32 punti. Checa, che non ha partecipato alle gare di oggi, ha ancora 29 punti ed e’ 14esimo nella classifica generale.

Noveno y decimo primer puesto para Badovini y el Team SBK Ducati Alstare en las carreras de Monza

Monza (Italia), domingo 12 mayo 2013: dos carreras muy disputadas para el Team Ducati Alstare las que hoy se han disputado en el circuito de Monza; Ayrton Badovini ha llevado su Ducati Panigale a la 9º y la 11º posición mientras que Carlos Checa no ha participado a causa de su lesión en la espalda.

Primera carrera: Partiendo de la décimo segunda posición de la parrilla, Badovini ha perdido algunas posiciones en la primera chicane para después recuperar los puestos perdidos tras la salida, posicionándose en la décimo cuarta posición. Ha conseguido dar caza a Sandi y Neukirchner en la octava vuelta. El piloto italiano se ha situado finalmente en la décimo primera posición lo que supone conseguir cinco puntos para el campeonato.

Segunda carrera: Badovini ha salido bien en la segunda carrera, ganando unas posiciones en la primera curva para encontrarse décimo primero después de dos vueltas. Una vez ha superado a Neukirchner, Ayrton ha comenzado a empujar fuerte para alcanzar a Baz que estaba delante suyo. A mitad de carrera era noveno, pero la diferencia con respecto al piloto francés era demasiado grande y no ha podido mejorar su posición. Finalmente ha sido noveno.

Ayrton Badovini: “La primera carrera ha sido difícil porque hemos tenido problemas de chattering en la zona más rápida de la pista. Los hemos resuelto para la segunda carrera, haciendo algunos cambios y pruebas y hemos sacado conclusiones positivas. En los próximos días haremos unos test en Mugello donde el objetivo será focalizar lo que hemos aprendido hoy para optimizarlo en las próximas carreras. Quiero agradecer a todos los patrocinadores, los fans y los “Ducatistas” que han venido a apoyarnos este fin de semana. Su apoyo es siempre muy apreciado.”

Tras esta cuarta prueba el campeonato 2013, Badovini se encuentra situado en la décimo tercera posición de la general del campeonato con 32 puntos. Checa, que no ha tomado parte en las carreras de hoy, tiene 29 puntos y es décimo cuarto en la provisional.

El Team Ducati Alstare tomará parte la próxima semana (martes y miércoles) con Ayrton Badovini en unos entrenamientos con el equipo de pruebas en el circuito de Mugello.

Ayrton Badovini vom Team SBK Ducati Alstare auf Platz neun und elf beim Ducati-Heimrennen in Monza

Monza/Italien, Sonntag, 12. Mai 2013 – Es war ein harter Kampf für Ayrton Badovini und sein Team SBK Ducati Alstare beim Heimrennen der Marke, der vierten Veranstaltung der Superbike-Weltmeisterschaft 2013 auf dem italienischen Traditionskurs „Autodromo di Monza“. Badovini kam in den beiden Wertungsläufen als Neunter und Elfter ins Ziel. Sein Teamkollege Carlos Checa hatte auf einen Start bei den Qualifikationstrainings am Samstag und den Rennen am Sonntag verzichtet. Nach dem ersten Qualifikationstraining am Freitag, das der spanische Ex-Weltmeister auf Platz elf beendete, hatte sich seine Verletzung an der linken Schulter verschlimmert.

Rennen 1: Von der zwölften Position aus gestartet, verlor Ayrton Badovini bereits in der ersten Schikane einige Plätze, von denen er jedoch zwei in der ersten Runde wieder gutmachen konnte und bei der folgenden Zieldurchfahrt als 14. registriert wurde. Danach machte sich Badovini daran, Federico Sandi und Max Neukirchner einzuholen, die direkt vor ihm fuhren, und konnte beide Konkurrenten während der nächsten Runden überholen. Nach Runde acht lag der Ducati-Pilot auf Platz elf, konnte Neukirchner während der zweiten Rennhälfte hinter sich halten und am Ende als Elfter fünf WM-Punkte mitnehmen.

Rennen 2: Der Start zum zweiten Rennen gelang Badovini besser, er konnte in den ersten Kurven mehrere Plätze gewinnen und während der zweiten Runde auf Platz elf vorstoßen. Nachdem er auch Max Neukirchner überholt hatte, versuchte Badovini, den einige Sekunden vor ihm fahrenden Loris Baz zu erreichen. Zur Mitte des Rennens rangierte Badovini bereits auf Platz neun, doch die große Lücke, die sich zwischen ihm und Baz aufgetan hatte, hinderte ihn daran, noch weiter nach vorne zu kommen. Badovini brachte die Panigale 1199 schlussendlich auf Rang neun ins Ziel.

Nach den ersten vier WM-Meetings der Saison 2013 liegt Ayrton Badovini mit 32 Punkten auf Rang 13. Carlos Checa wird mit 29 Punkten auf Platz 14 geführt.

Am Dienstag und Mittwoch der kommenden Woche werden Ayrton Badovini und das Team SBK Ducati Alstare an Testfahrten des Ducati-Entwicklungsteams in Mugello/Italien teilnehmen.

„Das erste Rennen war schwierig, weil ich in den schnellen Streckenteilen mit Vorderradrattern zu kämpfen hatte. Vor dem zweiten Rennen änderten wir einige Fahrwerkseinstellungen und konnten dadurch das Problem teilweise lösen.
