Suomy

The name Suomy is closely associated with speed, racing and the pure adrenaline of riding and today, the Italian company is one of the world's leaders in motorcycle helmets and team gear. Imbued with technical safety features, the manufacturer creates clothing lines and helmets that reflect the racing paddock lifestyle.

The Suomy adventure began in 1997 when the brand first became involved in the racing world with motocross rider Andrea Bartolini. A year later, Suomy entered the world of road racing with former Superbike World Champion and Team Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Troy Corser.

Acknowledging the growing popularity of the series, Suomy decided to concentrate its efforts on WSBK the following years and a string of excellent results confirmed their choice: not only did the victories keep coming, but the success of the World Superbike Championship helped put Suomy on the map.

2001 was a red-letter year for Suomy: it marked the company's debut in the 500cc GP Championship with Max Biaggi. It was also a year of triumph in the World Superbike Championship: five out of seven Suomy riders finished in the top six of the final standings in the Championship.

The following seasons were an endless string of victories and titles that spurred Suomy on developing its products, but this technology is not limited to just MotoGP and World Superbike. Suomy's product development goes far beyond winning races: they actually apply the same criteria to the very helmets and clothes worn by consumers on the street and the track.

In 2008, Team Suzuki Alstare will once again benefit from Suomy's state-of-the-art technology since our riders, mechanics and crew will all be wearing distinctive and trendy Suomy team wear.
