Good-bye to 2007

With the New Year in mind, it's time to look back at Alstare and Suzuki's 2007 season. Although Alstare Suzuki didn't win any titles, it wasn't for lack of trying! In fact, our rider Max Biaggi nearly won the World Superbike Championship on his GSX-R1000 Alstare Suzuki and if things had gone just a bit differently in just one race or another, there would have been a world title to celebrate instead of a third overall. Yukio had a WSBK season to forget, but he did win the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hour race - the most important race in Japan - breaking Honda's stranglehold of the event in the process.

In the Superstock 1000 class, our young Belgian Xavi Simeon was a title contender until the last round, when a mechanical failure put an end to his dreams. But now that he knows all the tracks and his GSX-R1000 Alstare Suzuki he will definitely be a force to be reckoned with in 2008.

Away from the World Superbike Championship, Suzuki took the World Endurance title comfortably, with S.E.R.T wrapping up the title in their home race, the Bol d'Or 24 hour. And there was also Suzuki success in the USA AMA Superbike championship, with Ben Spies taking the title on his Yoshimura Suzuki and team mate Mat Mladin finishing runner-up. And, in Japan, Yoshimura Suzuki won the All Japan Superbike Championship with Atsushi Watanabe defeating the might of Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki. So, all in all, it was a very good year for the GSX-R1000 Suzuki and a tremendous platform for further success in 2008.

But let's not forget our off-road cousins, because Steve Ramon took the FIM MX1 Motorcross World title on his Suzuki RM-Z450 and Suzuki also took the manufacturer's title - just to put the icing on the cake.

Congratulations to all our Suzuki winners everywhere and keep up the good work in 2008!
