Craig Jones 1985-2008

Team Alstare Suzuki and everybody at Alstare’s headquarters in Belgium would like to send their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of racer Craig Jones who died as a result of an accident in the Supersport World Championship race at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Jones fell from his CBR600 Parkalgar Honda at Clark Curve and the race was red-flagged immediately so that he could receive prompt medical attention to a serious head injury. He was then flown by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital for further assessment and treatment, but sadly succumbed to his injuries in the early hours on Monday.

Craig Jones (or ‘Jonesy’ as he was known to everybody) was a talented racer, a real prospect for the future and a truly likeable guy - serious on the track and good company away from it. Despite being only 23 years of age, Jonesy had been part of the World Superbike scene for the best part of the last five years and his presence in the paddock will be sorely missed.
